Rubislaw Den

A Victorian detached property in Aberdeen's west end. As the client was living in the property full time we opted for a longer term project, which is still ongoing. The client was aiming for Ralph Lauren curated interiors, paired back enough to showcase antiques, artworks and family heirlooms. 

Beginning with the Christmas Lounge, this allowed sanctuary for the family, a finalised place to retreat to within the home. Within this room we embraced the lack of natural light to create a warm and cosy space. Textured paper on all walls, whilst keeping the original cornicing in white to enhance the properties original features. Maximising space in this room was a must to allow seating for seven when needed. Adding in a zoning rug to focus sofas around, allows extra chairs to be styled in corners of the room to be available at the right time.   

As always, a Buchanan McKenzie project focuses around flow of the interiors. A similar colour palette is planned to flow throughout when the project moves onto phase two. More of this project to follow as it is completed.
